COMMERCIAL PROCUREMENT

Bulk & wholesale supply for commercial buyers

BADAR Trading quotes specialty paints, coatings and pigments in commercial quantities for wholesalers, distributors, importers, refinish operations, coating manufacturers and industrial buyers. Packaging is quoted in litres and kilograms first; gallon equivalents are provided where a buyer works in US units.

Packaging & order format

Actual packaging depends on the material, the manufacturer, the supply route, the quantity and the destination. Depending on the product, commercial formats may include evaluation or sample quantities, manufacturer packs, pails, drums, bags or sacks for dry pigments, and project-specific packaging. The exact pack size is confirmed during quotation.

How the format is decided

The manufacturer’s filling options come first, your quantity second, and the transport classification third. A format that exists for one product in one market may not exist for another.

Evaluation before volume

Where the manufacturer offers a sample or trial quantity, it is quoted separately so a material can be approved before a production commitment.

Dry pigments

Quoted by weight rather than volume. Packaging follows the producer’s standard for that grade.

Units in the quotation

Litres and kilograms. If you work in US gallons, state that and we convert — 1 US gallon is approximately 3.785 L — rather than relabelling a metric pack.

WE PUBLISH NO PACK-SIZE LIST. STATING FORMATS WE HAVE NOT CONFIRMED WITH A SUPPLIER WOULD READ AS AVAILABILITY, AND IT IS NOT.

Who buys in commercial volume

  • Distributors & importers

Resale-oriented buyers needing consistent specification, documentation and repeatable supply of specialty lines.

  • Refinish operations & chains

Multi-site shops consolidating basecoat, clear and effect material purchasing across locations.

  • Coating manufacturers

Formulators purchasing pigments and effect materials as production input, by kilogram.

  • Industrial & fleet buyers

Protective and performance coatings specified against substrate, exposure and maintenance cycle.

  • Procurement departments

Buyers who need a documented quotation, clear Incoterms and a traceable specification per delivery.

  • Manufacturers of finished goods

Product manufacturers specifying an appearance — often an effect finish — across a production run.

What to send with a bulk enquiry

A complete enquiry is quoted faster and more accurately. The five items below resolve most of the questions we would otherwise have to ask.

READ THE WHOLESALE BUYING GUIDE
  1. 1 · Material identification

Product name, manufacturer reference or colour code — or a description precise enough to classify the material.

  2. 2 · Quantity and cadence

One-off volume or recurring supply, and the expected annual requirement if known.

  3. 3 · Destination and Incoterms

Delivery country and preferred terms. Transport classification of coatings and solvents affects both cost and routing.

  4. 4 · Documentation requirement

Which documents your process requires: SDS, TDS, certificate of analysis, batch traceability.

  5. 5 · Deadline

When the material is needed on site. Specialty materials frequently have production-run rather than warehouse lead times.

How minimum order quantity is actually set

MOQ varies by material, manufacturer and sourcing route — which is why we do not publish a single figure. For a standard line it reflects filling and handling economics and is usually modest. For a made-to-order colour or a specialty pigment it reflects the production batch: a plant that cannot economically mix below a certain volume will not do so, whatever the buyer would prefer.

This has one practical consequence worth planning around. If a colour matters and the batch is large, buy the whole requirement at once. Splitting an effect colour across two production batches risks a visible difference between panels finished months apart, and the cost of that is measured in rework, not in litres.

Where a manufacturer offers them, sample quantities can be quoted separately so a material can be approved before a production commitment. For effect finishes we recommend agreeing a sprayed test panel rather than approving from a chip.

Procurement questions

What is your minimum order?

It varies by material, manufacturer and sourcing route, and is stated in your quotation. For made-to-order colours it is set by the production batch rather than by us.

Can you quote in gallons?

We quote metric because that is how European packaging is filled, and provide the conversion where you work in US units: 1 US gallon ≈ 3.785 L. We will not describe a 20 L pail as five gallons — it is not.

Do you supply samples before a bulk order?

Where the manufacturer offers a sample format, yes, quoted separately. For pigments this is the sensible route: dispersion behaviour in your own binder is the property that decides the purchase.

Which documents come with a delivery?

The manufacturer’s safety data sheet for hazardous products, the technical data sheet, and batch identification or a certificate of analysis where your process requires it. Tell us at enquiry stage so it is arranged rather than chased.

Can you hold stock for a framework agreement?

Scheduled supply against an agreed annual volume can be quoted. We do not advertise warehouse capacity we have not committed to a specific customer — any such arrangement is written into the agreement, not implied on a web page.
